Automatic Transmission Little Red Button

I have recently purchased a 1995 Sportrak Automatic 1.6 Elxi - on the gear selector I have an overdrive button and a small red button, obviously I know what the overdrive button does but have no idea what the red button is for (unfortunately the owners handbook is in Japanese!)

can anyone help?

Got to watch the little red buttons...

You'll probably find that by holding that button down it will allow you to shift out of "P" (park) without the key in the ignition or your foot on the brake.
