F50

Forum:

i`m trying to find a front propshaft for a 1984, F50 (RKJ S/T),2500cc, 2 door, 5 speed. This is the one where the front shaft is longer than the rear one.Does anyone have any suggestions ?.I`ve done the online scrapyard search with no results

F50 props

I struggled to find a short rear prop for the 5 speed, in the end I cut and shortened a 4 speed one and welded it back up. This isn't much good to you unless you have a decent spare prop to lengthen with a bit of suitably sized tube. There are plenty of driveshaft service places around with fourtrack props on the shelf but the flanges are wrong for the earlier vehicles. The solution I was offered was to ream out the existing yokes to take larger and more common sized (read cheaper) UJs and make up a new prop using tube and a landrover sliding joint (cheaper again). Driveline services reckoned they could do this for about £100 all in. Like I said earlier, I bought a pair of 4 speed props and cut one down. Cheaper again - free if you can weld it back up yourself.

In summary - I don't have a spare one sorry.
