Could anyone please confirm which engine is fitted to an R reg Hijet.It is a 3 cylinder engine but the decal on the rear door(it's a 5 door people carrier)says 1300 EFI and I've been told it's a 1296cc engine.Is there such a thing as a 1300 3 cyl engine?

Lift the seat and count the number of plug caps.
If there are three then it is a 1000cc unit, four and it will be the 1300 unit. There is a not a great deal between them in performance terms although the 1.3 will have a little more in reserve.
The only 1.2 3cylinder unit I know of is in the one fitted to the Subaru Sumo 4x4 and this makes the little van a real road burner. Probably the quickest micro van on the road and on its fully independant suspension easily out performing all the others.
