Much is said about the torsion bars on independents limiting the suspension travel, this is a simple problem to cure.
Torsion bars manufactured by aftermarket suppliers are often uprated items, much the same as Milners leaf springs, these limit the articulation of the front suspension when off road.
This problem arose with an individual i know whe wanted more articulation, i advised him to go straight to the suppliers and have a set made 10% softer than standard, this he did.

After he obtained them i fitted them for him, we tried the vehicle off road and the improvements were exceptionally good, road performance suffered slightly, but was negligable, the cost was £14 more per side than a standard item.

This vehicle is now on its way to Cyprus where he is working for the next two years, their roads will test them and give a long term performance indicator.
