Two temperature senders were fitted to most Fourtrak / F50 / F20 models, one is for the dashboard temperature gauge, although either can be used as they are identical.
Another was fitted to operate various options fitted throughout the world, models fitted with hydraulic winches from the factory or by supplying dealers had an optional remote gauge fitted, usually at the front of the vehicle. This allowed the engine to rev at 1500RPM on the hand throttle and the operator could monitor the engine temperature from outside the vehicle in hot climates.
In extremely cold areas it was used mainly to operate remote heaters for the engine and fuel tank, these were diesel powered and kept the engine at a temperature where it could be easily started.
Basically it was used for a number of reasons.
I think the temp sensor on
I think the temp sensor on the:
1) thermostat housing is used by the variable glow plug timer control unit.
2) engine block is used for the temp gauge on the dashboard.
