Veg Oil Fourtrak?

Forum:

Has anyone tried running their diesel on veg oil? I've been using Rix (UK) bioblend (5% biodiesel) for a while and just wondered about going the next step.

cheers

veg oil fourtrack

well as far as i'm aware veg oil is ok in non turbo fourtracks, ingrediants are this:- 997cc of used veg oil(local restuarants are always a good source, spiceyer the better) 3cc of non-kerosin based white spirit, mix and leave for about 3 weeks, filter it through to get rid of bits and hey presto veg diesel! just increase mixture to suite( i.e how much u produce) then go to post office and pick up the relevent form to pay the duty (about 26p per litre) just make sure you declare that as police will stop you if they smell a rat... or spicey mexican heh heh, my dad uses the stuff in his landy.

For even better results, use

For even better results, use a very volatile component such as methanol or IPA.

Soke to my bro. (A certified vehicle engineer who often gets seconded to the TRRL) about this, and he told me there was a huge issue of this around Llanelli, S. Wales not that long ago. Apparently the whole town smelt like a chip shop, which alerted the law.

The supermarkets in the area

The supermarkets in the area were being sold out of veg oil for weeks, they even had a maximum number of bottles to be purchased per customer.

I also thinks lots of cities, Nottingham and Manchester spring to mind where they have detector vans to sniff out none duty payers!

I've no problem with paying the duty, From one of the greeny websites, i was told that the nippon denso pumps are bosch derivatives so it should be suited to svo or wvo, it's just before I start tinkering, thought it was best to see if anyone has tried it.
