Forum:

hi guys im new to this forum need help my fourtrack is under the sea as we speak it got stuck in sand i have disconected the battery and blocked the intake im waiting for the tide to go owt and have a tractor going to tow it owt what do i need to do before i start is help please....thanks

oooh nasty

Hope you got a picture or two of that? but wont be the first one ive seen, clean everything, new oil, drain rad, new water, how deep did it go though? you might have to drain the fuel tank and flush it, leave it all to drain for some time, dont start it with injectors/glow plugs in place incase there is water in the bores, it is gonna rust like a bitch, did you see that top gear episode when they drowned the toyota pickup in the channel - still got it going afterward - lots of wd-40.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Drowned at Sea!

Hi Iain. Sorry to read this about your fourtrak. Have also seen this happen too in the past.

Once you get her towed out to safety i would suggest you leave her to drain completely for a few days under shelter.

Difficult to say what damage has been done as i dont know where the tide level came too.

Dont attempt to start her without assessing the full extent of all water damage.

I think all you can do for now is say a small prayer, pop two paracetamols in the radiator and tell her how much you love her!

Hope shes good. Wish you all the best.

Befor you do anything els,

Befor you do anything els, use losads of clean water inside and out, and everywhere you can get. Presure washer if you have one, hose pipe at least. Any water dammage is already done, so don't worry about that at the moment, but get that salt off!
Then drain every fluid and replace. Axles, engine, gearbox, fuel. Everything. And jetwash out inside of everything you can befor refilling (making sure you dry it again first of course...
