Hijet clutch! Difficult? Expensive?

Forum:

Hi all.

I've only just started driving my Hijet and have realised the clutch is going as it slips under heavey acceleration which can be quite often for me as some drivers think they can take the pee and bully it out of the way.

Anyway I'd be interested if anyones done the job and knows how long it takes and if anyone knows wheres the best place to get them price wise. They seem to be around for £150 or over £200 when as 3 parts.

I thought the charade was the same engine but someone looked on Autodata and said the charade has the HC-E the Hijet has the HC-ES although it may just be an engine with more torque.

Maybe theres an identical clutch new on a different vehicle that is less well known?

If not I can get a scrappy onr for £25 delivered supposedly a good one. I could just get it relined but then use the old bearings etc........

Anyway any help much appreciated.
