I'm guessing panard rod bushes, from your description.
Is it a long (plastic high roof) or short (flat metal roof) wheel base? If it's long it's an F78. Short, F73. Ths chassis number will have it in the middle somewhere (Ie, ********F7?*******).

Panhard
Nev is correct it is the panhard rod, if you have access to a lathe the mounting pins take minutes to turn down, weld them on and they can be made to fit any internal sized bush.
Poly bushes are the best type to fit, if you retain the standard sized mountings, these are available off the shelf from Milners.
Panhard rod's locate the axle, they prevent it from moving from side to side while still allowing articulation of the wheels.
the point of the pins are
to limit the rotation of the axle as far as i can see.
sounds
sounds more like trailing arm bushes to me?????
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

is the trailing arm not
the bit which comes from the chassis and holds the bottom of the coil?
cheers
Yes that would make it the
Yes that would make it the trailing arm. Sorry. Thinking of the right bit, but the wrong name. Yes panard rods are what stop lateral axle movment.

its not the trailing arm,
i am explaining this very badly,
i found the panard and its not that, its not the trailing arm,
they are two rods about 10 inches long, bushes either end that connect to a chassis cross memeber and the axle, i think they dont take to much abuse as the bolts must me 5 of 6 year old and the bushes are still ok, i am going to try and re fabriacate a pin the fit the existing bushes
ahhhh
anti roll bar then
