Forum:
I need to replace the rear core plug behind maifold on the side of my mates Fourtrack engine. I have changed larger and shallower plugs and wondering the best way to get this out as it is quite small and deep? Any ideas gratfully recieved, Thanks

Gain access to the core plug, drill a small hole in the middle of it with a drill smeared with grease to catch any swarf, use a slide hammer with a hooked end inserted through the hole and hammer out.
Alternatively; drill a larger hole and split the core plug with a junior hacksaw blade, prise out slowly with a small screwdriver.
Insert the new core plug with a smear of gasket sealant, using a socket which is a tight fit in the hole, tap in slowly to the required depth, flush the cooling system and replace the colant and anti freeze.
