Forum:
Dear All,
I have just acquired a 1999 Terios 1.3 Automatic. It comes with a factory fitted Air Conditioner. I have been experiencing problem with the idle rpm. Here are my observations:
- RPM went down to 600 and stablised at 700 when the car was idle and Air Con was on and Gear was in D. The car shaked.
- RPM was 1000 when Air Con was on and Gear was in N.
- RPM was 1300 when Air Con was off and Gear was in N.
I believe that there should be a device to regulate the engine rpm inorder to compensate the extra loading exerted by te Air Con. Where can I find such a device please? Is the the one in the picture below please?
I did a test today and found that the above device is a valve controlling air intake for the power steering.
If my thought is not on the right track, where should I start to solve this problem please? Or, it is normal for Terios!
Thanks!
Terry.
