Youll find the weights of your fourtrak on a metal plate situated under the right hand hinge area ( as you look from the front towards the vehicle) of the bonnet on the bulkhead, it also tells you the engine type etc, anyway its nearly two tonne, always check the specs of your vehicle before towing anything of weight especially if the trailer has no brakes!!

Towing
Cannot be done, the towing weight of a Freelander is 2000Kg, the lightest Fourtrak model is the F80 and this weighs in at 1960Kg, add the weight of fuel alone and it exceeds the 2000Kg limit.
Add the weight of the trailer and this pushes it well over the limit; my neighbour has the same problem with his Freelander, and picked up a secondhand Shogun to tow his Fourtrak around.

Hi,
many thanks for your comments,being new to this i am gaining info all the time, out of interest i have removed all the carpets, rear seats, front and rear bumpers, and the spare wheel and its supporting bracket, granted comment re fuel it can weight a tidy sum,could that be towed with a A frame?
when weights are desplayed on the plates within the engine conpartment are they weights of just the car or the car with pasengers/fuel etc

Weighty Issues
The weights displayed are for the vehicle with coolant, engine and transmission oils, and 5 litres of diesel.
Vehicle weights do not include passengers, or any options specified by the first purchaser, add a winch and uprated underbody protection and this will add 190Kg to the specified weight of the vehicle.
