Should I scrap my Charade 1990?

Forum:

My Charade 1990 3 door 3 cylinder hatch back (210,000km) is on its last legs. Should I keep it or scrap it?

It's got a reconditioned engine done in 2003. New radiator. New battery and new muffler just put in last week with service before discovering this problem was $450. Now I have to replace starter motor, clutch and drive shaft thingies for AU$1800.

I'm happy to pay the $1800 but only if it will last a few more years. I barely drive the thing having done 30,000km in 11 years. My question is: what other major fixes could be needed?

If I've got:
- reconditioned engine (done at 202,000km)
- new muffler
- new battery
- new radiator
- new tyres
- starter motor replaced
- clutch done at same time
- drive shaft thingies replaced both sides

What else could fail:
- gear box (seems fine no issues with it ever)
- suspension (needs replacing cannot get wheel alignments but no steering wheel shaking)
- minor rust spots appearing but no biggy - I keep it under cover)
- Unknw
- Unknw

It's such a simple little engine in a simple little car. It's economical to run and relatively cheap to fix, and has never let me down. I love it, but, if there's another major fix just around the corner I can't justify it. Is anyone else still driving around in one of these?
