Chassis tubing

Forum:

Hi folks
New to the fourtrak (98) even though I've always wanted one..
Anyway found a decent very low mileage example.
It was a good price but has one fairly major flaw!
There large diameter tubular section above the rear axle is broken at both ends, in turn splitting a brake pipe.
Does anyone know where I can trace this past, or appropriate size tube?
All help appreciated.

Radio Code

Forum:

Does a 2007 Terios have a radio code, I've had a look through the handbook and find no mention of one.
I want to disconnect the battery to do another job but I'm reluctant to do so just in case I lose the radio as I don't have a code to reset it.
Can anyone help.

Steering Wheel Alignment

Forum:

Bought a 2007 Terios 1.5 SX for my wife last week, the steering was pulling and it had four odd tyres fitted so I had four new tyres fitted and the tracking done but the steering wheel is sitting off.
I would like to take the steering wheel off and level it but I'm not sure what precautions I have to take with regards the air bag.
Can anyone here let me know what is involved, I guess I will need to disconnect the battery but I'm reluctant as I don't have the code for the radio, then again I don't even know if the radio is coded.
Can anyone offer any advice.

Steering ball joints Sporty

Forum:

Some time ago I wrote about the quality of replacement ball joints and in particular the fact that the sourced lower joint came without a grease point. At that time I need to just replace the upper which was easy. At the last MOT it was noted that the offside lower was just showing movement and needed replacing but not urgently. Nine months on and a new MOT approaching I decided yesterday to do the iffy joint.

rear axle seized due to back

Forum:

Wotcha all, my first post on here
I have a 92 fourtrac 2.8td
Got it cheap as rotten so rebuilt sills and made a new complete wheel arch as I was not paying £200 for a new bit of steel. I used to restore cars years ago so welding aint a problem even on rotten things like this. Anyway after mot I used it to tow which was fine. last week while driving at 30 the rear end seized solid ffs put me sideways.
No oil left in axle, due to back plate corrosion grrr its my own fault I wanted to wait for spring before doing next round re propshafts and axle seals.

Steering column lock and key barrel on 97 Sportrak

Forum:

Does anyone know when the changeover was in the design of the steering lock and key barrel? I am trying to source a replacement for a stolen and recovered R reg Sportrak, but understand the design was changed at this time and older column locks and barrels may not fit? Any experts confirm this?
