Why not make your own, just b

Why not make your own, just buy some gasket paper , trace around the thermostat housing, and cut out with scissors. Then use some gasket goo on each side. You could even just use some silicone gasket cement on its own.

Cornflake packets

My 'trak has been running on a thermostat gasket made from a cardboard breakfast cereal packet for the last 5 years.

I had a leak from the gasket some years ago, so I made a new gasket from a cornflake packet (cheaper than paying Daihatsu prices). I used a bit of grease on each side to improve the seal. The nice thing with grease is that the gasket usually does not stick to the metal the next time you dismantle the joint.

Actually I use the cornflake packet gasket for quite a lot of non-critical gaskets on all sorts of machinery with good results.

Gasket paper

I'm with rf man, although i prefer Rice Crispies.

thnx

Thermostat Gasket

I made one from a piece of Inner tube. Cut tube ,open it out ,lay on housing, tap it all over with hammer to mark it, then cut it out with a pair of scissors. I was deperate, but it worked. now I keep a sheet of gasket paper in the shed.
