fourtrak fuel lines

Forum:

hi all does any body know what the bore diameter is for the feed and return fuel lines on a diesel 99 fourtrak cheers ian

New Pipe.

Good day,

I'm afraid I don't know the diameter pipes you need to get. I'm having a similar type of problem as you, the back pipes on my Fourtrack have rusted completely through. My son got the tank off and ripped away all the old fuel pipe. He didn't however, mark which diameter pipes came out of the tank and where it went!

I have plastic type pipes (These seemed to have been replaced some years ago with this heavy duty rubberised synthetic plastic pipe used for dangerous chemicals industry.) coming from the front of my Fourtrack and no pipes at the back. As you know the diesel fuel tank as two metal pipes coming out of it. One is to supply fuel to the engine, whilst the other pipe is to return Un-used fuel back to the fuel tank. I've got some more of this rubberised piping and connected up both outlets from the fuel tank. The car runs no matter which way round I put the pipes. However, if I have connected up the return pipe on the fuel tank to the inlet pipe on the engine there would not be a filter on this pipe in the fuel tank and therefore I could suck up rubbish from the bottom of the tank and clogg the pipe up.

So then, do you know which of the short pipes coming out of the fuel tank is to supply pipe and which is the return pipe?
By the way, is plastic rubberised fuel line pipe is very good. The new rubberised pipe I got from an industrial supplier. It has a pressure rating marked on it of 300 and an internal bore of 6 mm. I have used Jubilee clips to hold it in place.

Have a nice day,

Greeny.
