petrol pipe

Forum:

Hi Folks,
I need to replace a petrol pipe on my 1991 sporty as it is rusty in the middle section the one thats goes the length of the truck, can anyone throw any light on it to help and has it got a fuel filter on this model do I have to depressurize it.
Can I just replace the middle section with a plastic petrol pipe any Ideas would be appreciated.
Thanx Alfie.

i would use the plastic one myself unless you are into heavy offroading then the metal ones offer greater protection but can split just as well as for depressurizing the system take the fuel filler cap off that will normalise it clamp the flexi-pipe near the tank and again near the front measure cut at a joint replace release clamp at back fist then clamp at front and pump pedal to start

FUEL PIPE.

I AGREE BUT I THINK I WOULD PLAY SAFE AND GO FOR THE STAINLESS BRAIDED HOSE THAT GIVE YOU A BIT MORE PROTECTION, THEY COME IN VARIOUS LENGTHS AND ARE NOT THAT EXPENSIVE AND EASY TO FIT. THEY LOOK GOOD AS WELL BUT IN THE MAIN THEY DO THE JOB SAFELY. THE PIPING INSAIDE IS NEOPRENE WHICH WILL NOT GO HARD AND REMAINS FLEXIBLE.
