My '96 Fourtrak has just failed it's Irish DOE test because of rear brake imbalance. This weekend I'll take the offending side apart and see what I can discover.
Before I do so can I ask if anyone has any advice? Forewarned is forearmed
TIA

is it drums
Its drums on the back isnt it??? cant remember, if it is its a doddle anyway, just take of drums both sides, clean all parts, copper grease moving parts, adjust up so the drums are tight to put back on, then with the adjuster hole on the back plate and the drum on, tighten them both so it takes the same force with a bar on the studs to turn them by hand - done right this should be near enough, take it for a run - emergency brake - let go off steering wheel 'ish - see what happens, if it pulls one side tighten other side a touch and try again!
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Lets hope the drum threads
Lets hope the drum threads are not flogged.
To remove the drums, get 2 14mm bolts, and thread them into the holes in the face of the brake drums, and screw them in, this pulls the brake drums off the axle.
I would guess its mud and crap in the drums. It happens easily, and you have to stay on top of it. Its a common problem.
Growing old is compulsary, growing up isnt.
MUD MAKES EXCELLENT TOOTHPASTE.
I use billion dollar satellites, to find Tupperware.

could be a few things, mud
could be a few things, mud and crap, or it could be a siezed or leaking wheel cylinder
Watchout ... Daihatsu funny thread pitch !
Standard metric threads don't fit (I think Daihatsu used the fine version of M12 .... don't quote me ! )
My puller bolts are the two I had to angle grind off the silencer/tailpipe junction when I took the original exhaust apart.
