Headlamp problem on Fourtrak advice required

Forum:

The drivers side headlamp on my 1993 Fourtrak is not working. Changed bulb and fuse in the main fuse box (under dashboard) but stiull not working. Is there another fuse anywhere for this headlamp? All other lights are fine......

lamps

my best guess would be a broken wire or wires at the back of the connector which you push into the lamp. if neither the R/H/S dip nor main beam work i would suggest jumping a length of wire from the n/s lamp fittings to the o/s to see if it fires up, taking the necessary precautions at all times of course

Light Work

First test for voltage at the unit, connect a wire from the meter to the negative terminal of the battery to test, if you have voltage it is the normally broken earth wire.
If you have no voltage, test at the fuse, if there is voltage there it is a broken wire from the fuse to the lamp.
Trace the wire and check for corrosion, it is normally around the plug on the headlight connector.
