Forum:
I have a 1991 Sportrak with 215/75/15 goodrich mud terrain tyres. On 2 occasions I have got stuck in mud in 4wd, with one back wheel spinning and no drive to the other three. is there a LSD or Diff-lock on the sporty or is this just normal.
I was quite relieved but left a little red faced when a friendly frontera driver pulled me out.
free wheelin'
it's possible you may have your front wheels in 'free' position if you have manual locking hubs!Have a look at your front wheels and see if you have a switch with two positions marked 'free' and 'lock'.If you have then turn this switch to 'lock' and try that.

Cheers Higgin, Hubs are auto
Cheers Higgin,
Hubs are auto locking. I think they are working.
1 wheel spinning
If you're really in 4wd it's not (in a Sportrak) possible to get 1 spinning wheel. You need to check the front hubs are locking and if they are you need to check that you actually have drive to the front differential.
