Sportrak mods

Forum:

Hi,

I have just bought a J reg sportrak for off road use only. I use the vehicle for transport around several hundred acres of farmland. Mainly farm tracks but some mud, wet boggy ground and such like.

What would be the ideal tyres to put on this vehicle and what mods could I carry out to get a bit more lift/ground clearance?

Many thanks

Kirk

No road use at all? No MOT

No road use at all? No MOT prob.'s? Cut the wheel arches out, lift it (if neccessary) with extended shackles on the back and winding up the tourtion bars on the front. Then fit 31/10.50-15 Grizzaly Claws from Bronco tyres, on 8JJ rimms. Wide enough to 'flote' on boggy ground (and act as paddles), and nassty enough to dig through just about any amount of mud you wish to try at. Gearing will be a bit steep, but with what you have in mind I'm guessing high gears will not be of much use anyway?
