torsion bar help (sportrak)

Forum:

could some one talk me through the process of highering the front of a sportrak please

Put the front of the car up

Put the front of the car up on axle stands. These need to be under the chassis, not the wish bones. The front suspention needs to be hanging free.
Look on the inner side of the chassis rails (roughly under where the front seats are) to find the adjustes. These are litteraly big bolts on the end of the tortion bars. Tighten both of these up BY THE SAME NUMBER OF TURNS. You will need to use some trial and error to get the hight you want.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

ok but do i have to undo the

ok but do i have to undo the 2 lock nuts on the other end

ive been trying for 2 hours i cant get them to budge

The other end? The other

The other end? The other end of the torsion bar? No. The other end of the bolt? If memory serves, there should be one locking nut, and one fixed nut. The bolt winds throught the fixed nut to adjust the ride hight. I will look under mine later on (if weather improves).
