Leaf springs (3+1) for Sportrak

Forum:

Hi all,

I'm interested in buying the Swedish leaf springs (the ones that blooredoffroad supplies) for my Sporty. Any opinions on how they behave on off-road comparing to the original..?

Thank you in advance...

Hi,

I have them fitted to my sporty and the articulation is fantastic even with 31" tyres. If you combine them with explorer procomp shocks and remove the anti roll bar it makes a massive amount of difference.

on road handling is very good too, if yours is fitted with standard leafs you may find that the back end is very high after you have fittedf them. this is not a problem as it will soon settle down.

hope this helps

Interesting

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to remember approximately how much height did the back achieved after replacing the old ones? Also how much time did it take for the new leafs to settle down and after settling down how much height did the car lost?

I hope I didn't daze you with my questions Smile

probably about an inch or

probably about an inch or so, mine are still settling down after being on about a month and hasnt really lost huge amounts bout an inch or so, im thinking this is because of the shocks.

I'm very curious to see what will happen with my sportrak which is already almost +4cm high in the back with bigger shuckles and the original leaf springs! Needless to say that my leaf springs are flat out (no U shape anymore)!!

i have lifted mine in the

i have lifted mine in the same way, if you PM me your email address i can send you some photos if you want. Mine were very flat when i took them off but the new ones are much better.

IM also debating this i went

IM also debating this i went off roading sunday and now my leafs are totaly flat and i also snapped the rear shock mount, are the blood red ones really that good as you can get the milners off road ones for alot less

i have had milner springs

i have had milner springs fitted yes they are good springs but they tend to be very hard and you feel every bump and the articulation is alot less with them.
