I have a problem with my starter and I want to get it out to give it a service but it looks like a right pain to get to. Am I missing something obvious and being dum? If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

You are not missing owt.It is awkward rather than difficult.You will find it easier if you remove O/S/F wheel and remove the plastic inner wing (a couple of screws and bolts held mine)then its undo terminals and three holding bolts and fiddle the unit upwards removing acres of skin and swearing a lot.On my P reg I had to have it rebuilt as there wasnt a new one in the country.
