shacke mounts

hi i have a daihatsu rocky 1986 lwb 2.8 non turbo and i am trying to find out the shipest way to lift it and steel have full control of it, please correct me if am wrong but instead of extending the shackles can i extend the shackle mounts and if i do how can it be do and than in the other hand can i fit 33inch tires????????

Yes you can lift the hangers

Yes you can lift the hangers away from the chassis. Cut hangers off the chassis, cut box section same width as chassis to length of lift. Weld box to chassis, and hangers to bottom of box. Then brace the box section with triangles of box or plate. The higher the lift, the more bracing you will need to use.

thanks very much that help a lot, i think am going to do that instead but am sorry what do you mean of brace the box section with triangles of box plate.

Just mounting the hanger on

Just mounting the hanger on a leg is asking that leg to absorbe a LOT of twisting force. To counter this you need to brace the leg, to stop it moving.
