1997 MPV HIjet tyres @ £25 + VAT

Forum:

just been out to have a look at what size my tyres are..
the rear are clear on size 155 (width of tread)/80 (height of wall/profile)-R (speed rating) 12 (rim) C (commercial)
The front tyres are not so clear cut!
155 R12 C.. no profile size.

can i take a punt and say the fronts are 80 profile as well? 2 different makes fitted to front/rear.

got a price of £25 + Vat or £30ish fitted.. for commercial (C) tyres

is that about right for tyres for these vans?

Hijet tyres

Had a set of 4 Commercial tyres fitted to my 1.3 late last year for £110 all in, pretty good, I thought!

Thats better than my bike..

Thats better than my bike.. £130-150 for just TWO tyres!..not fitted!

i have found searching online for good prices is almost impossible due to the odd tyre size!

Tyres

Hello, why dont you upgrade to 13 inch alloys mate from Duncan at tyresave.co.uk??

Ive had the 13 inch KN Minators fitted and the ride has been transformed. In addition to this i now have a whole lotta choice from what tyres i wish to fit from now on!!!

> money... and i'll be honest.. in a month-ish time.. i'll be back on my motorcycle with the van being used once or twice a week + my bike is where i like to spend my money. only passed driving test last Dec (after 10 yrs of bike only) so i'll stick to steel rims in case i misjudge a corner and clip the curb! 4 wheels much wider than my usual 2.
+ (lol) i am not a car junkie (i hate driving, hate cars), i have no intention to "do up or pimping" the van.. only spend money on essential stuff and maintenance and i dont need to pimp my bike as its already got custom paint and parts.

Costs

Valid point my friend. Sell the van then eh!!!! L.O.L

nah. bought it to help me

nah. bought it to help me get my biker club camping gear to some of the local shows we go to. thankfully a m8 is willing to drive while i ride my baby.
the van has its uses. + i am learning as i go. never realised car drivers bothered to wave/nod/flash at other people with same vehicle. thought that was a biker thing.
tyres look ok at the mo, tracking on front left maybe off as edge of tyre looking slightly baldish!

HiJet Tyres

If you carry full loads at any time the 13" tyres so not have the load rating required! I have in the past thought about changing to 13" and done all the maths etc. Since I do occassionally carry full loads and at high speed I deciced not to change.
£25 per tyre is pretty good for the 12" commercial tyres.
