JapFest trying to get the biggest gathering of Daihatsus in the UK

Forum:

16th May at Castle Combe in Wiltshire and we are hoping to get the biggest gathering of Daihatus yet in the UK. We had a good number of GTtis and Copens last year and would like to open this up to all Daihatsus this year.

Tickets will need to be pre ordered via the owners club and I will confirm the prices when I get this but if you are interested please leave you details here and I will post up when I have a bit more info.

Would be great if we could get 40-50 cars there !

250 miles accross country

It's a great idea. Just wish it was more central in the country. Or that I was a bit younger!! 250 miles accross country may be too far.

Jap fest meeting

I think that there would be a massive number of owners of Daihatsu's wanting to go to this meeting day but to be fair to everybody not only in the UK but also our Irish friends and abroad it would be nice to have it at o more central UK venue. I know it takes alot of organisation but with the credit crunch ongoing we do need something to cheers us all up and that we can afford to go to. Its not just the cost of fuel to get there but it also involves entry costs as well which could spiral. Before you know it, it could be in excess of £100 for a good day out which most of us these days sadly cant afford. In my experience with car shows in the past, Billing Aquadrome in Northampton has always been a great venue along with Blehiem palce near Oxford. Lets make it happen.

OK cheers Fry Diz I'll be in

OK cheers Fry Diz I'll be in touch, any more takers.

Understand the comments so if one of you takes ownership of organising it from the Daihatsu Drivers Forum I'll co-ordinate with you and get the GTti owners club there and will liaise with the Copen Owners Club, how does that sound Unknw

Suggest you agree an area or location first.

Can you please leave your names up here with the numbers of tickets you are going to be ordering so I can get an idea of numbers from this forum pls

Only one person from here

Only one person from here has expressed any interest, can you let me know an idea of reasons for the lack of interest so I can understand this as it may help me plan future events that will be more appealing based on the content or location.

Please be honest so if you thinks its a boy racers event, its too far, you cannot afford it or you don't go to shows please let me know.

Sounds like a cool idea meet fellow Daihatsu owners I'll be up 4 it. I live in Bedford so Castle Combe OK, or Billing 15mins away but Billing can be rough if you camp overnight as get visited by CHAVS, present company excluded ofcourse Biggrin Cheers Marcus (YRV F speed)

To stop the chance of this

To stop the chance of this thread being completely hijacked to be about a possible different event other than Japfest, remember to say if you'd be interested in attending Japfest. Will start another thread about any other meetup soon.

I might possibly be interested in attending JapFest, work commitments depending.

Great idea,we would really

Great idea,we would really like to attend but Castle Combe idyllic setting as it is is simply too far south for us to travel as we live in West Yorks and running a 93 Fourtrak the fuel cost for the round journey would be prohibitive. I have suggested separate north (Durham) and south(Salisbury) meets but we are only really interested in meeting Fourtrak and Sportrak owners. Hope the day is a success and weather is kind.
