irritating letters

Forum:

hi do we really need that irritating letter recognition thing to log on? it took 4 goes to get on tonite one time it was a toss up between a bent X and a wonky K i guess i picked the wrong one... havent a clue what went wrong the other times... it just means that most times i just read posts without logging on , only bothering signing in when ive got the overwhelming urge to reply to someones problems.

capachas ?????!!!!!!or some thing

I never need to use that login system, just put in user name and password at bottom right of whatever page I am on to log in if I wish to do so.

I believe they are to stop bot net harvesting of web sites/pages re spam or something along that line.

Spot on Ews. If you log on

Spot on Ews. If you log on 'manualy' by putting details into the boxs provided 9above the random image) you don't have to do the recognition test. That only happens when you try to post and are not loged on already.

As other people have

As other people have suggested use the login box which is in the bottom right hand corner of each page and not the dedicated login page, that way you won't need to enter the CAPTCHA characters. Unfortunately they are an essential annoyance to stop Spambots and Malware injections. Have purposely not put them on the logon box on the pages though I could as noticed that spambots so far have only used the dedicated pages to try and sign up and to try and logon.
