Whistle under acceleration but not standing still

Hi all, I have a 94 1.6lt fuel inj Feroza, it has started whistling under acceleration at about 2200rpm to about 3500rpm in all gears and hi/lo range it sounds like a turbo noise, only one problem i dont have a turbo.
I run it up to between 2200 and 3500rpm sitting still and no noise .
Any ideas as its driving me nuts

Fan and belts both intact, I have a small crack in the muffler but the sound is coming from the front

Whistles.

Whistles on acceleration can be from air being sucked into the intake manifold. Check for loose bolts, loose fittings etc.

On a similare tack, the air

On a similare tack, the air cleaner, or the hose from it could have developed a small hole? Something that is sucked open when the engine is under strain? Again, only an idea.

Yep a pin hole in the pipe

Yep a pin hole in the pipe going from air filter to airbox. Took heaps to find it, Thanks for the advice
