Who Manufactures?

Forum:

Does anyone have any insight on if another automotive corporation manufactured the different components for the fourtrax. I am located in the states and unfortuneatly there is no longer a dealership, nor a valuable way of aquiring any internal engine or tranny components. I have been doing some research and correct me if i'm wrong but the engine is actually a toyota 5a engine. Thats all I have been able to come up with so far. I thought if anyone would know it would be across seas. Any information will help, Thanks!!

Parts

Toyota own a large stake in Daihatsu, and the corporate parts bin was raided for many components, so many can be matched with current parts.

In America this would also be Lexus, as i am aware Toyota brand their vehicles Lexus over in your neck of the woods.

What about a toyota 4a? Has

What about a toyota 4a? Has anyone attempted bolting the fourtrax tranny to any type of 4a engine. ya think the housing would bolt on.

Petrol or Diesel? In the UK

Petrol or Diesel? In the UK at least the Diesel id a DL prefix engine. The 2ltr Petrol is a Toyota 3Y. Hope that may be of help?

toyota engine

Hi
don't know if this will help but I have an F95 Fourtrak, it was produced for only 2 years as far as I know, '90 - '92 and has the Toyota fuel injected 135hp 4Y engine which was also used in the Camry and possibly some Lexus we never had over here. I bought it because a) it was cheap and b) I owned a Camry with this engine for many years and it was unbelievably reliable and very potent for it's size. I have plans for this particular car to create a light wieght trials / challenge machine as it has accelaration power the diesel or turbo diesel will never see. I wouldn't want to tow too much with it though as it doesn't have the diesels torque, to illustrate my 70hp N/A deisel F70 soft top has dragged 3.2 tonnes on an 18 foot flatbed up a half mile 1:6 hill near where I live without even a raise in temp.............was in low 1st at walking pace though. God bless manual hubs and patient drivers.
best regards
Dave
