I am brand new to this site so a big hello!
I am just wondering if anyone can assist me?Ive got the above vehicle that i am after getting rid of but the first gear was chipped(i think) by the previous lady that i bought it off.This has resulted in a whine in 1st gear which has then resulted in a car that many people will now not touch in fear that the gearbox will explode!!
Does anyone out there know where i can get a reasonably priced first gear and gbox bearings for this??Any sites or suppliers?I will have to do the job myself to get a sale by the looks of it or even resort to just scrapping it.A true shame if thats the case its in a good condition otherwise.

I dont know of any direct suppliers of parts like this other than the expensive dealerships. I would try a local or any Transmission reconditioners/specialists, they might have the bits used or know where to source.
Probably for around the same money and less time fixing, get a used box from a scrappers, i know the 1.3 GTi is rare but there are some out there somewhere
