Shocks Fitment

Forum:

Sportrak Shocks on 4Trak?
Hey people,

I need some advice...again. And the forum is the best source I can find. Does anybody know if replacement shocks originally intended for the Feroza/Sportrak will fit the Rocky/Fourtrak? I have a 1998 4Trak SWB and am looking for shocks. I need to look around to find the most bang for buck ones. And I am finding lots intended for the Sportrak (on the USA market: Rocky. I don't mean to create confusion) but none for the 4Trak. Would like to know if I can go for those.??
Thanks anybody who might reply.

Shocked

Not sure if they will fit physically, but they should not be fitted as they are the incorrect rating and nowhere near strong enough.
Many aftermarket shocks are available from a variety of world sources, these include standard and uprated.
Contact Milners online and they may be able to help with an alternative shocker which will fit and be available locally. Alternatively order some from them, they do ship worldwide, and are reasonably priced.

Didn't think of strength and rating!!!!!

Hey man,

Now as for the shocks, I see you are shocked by my question. I understand why... it didn't occur to me the matter about their different ratings and strength. Obvious.
So... you are suggesting Milner. I have checked their website and have even ordered items from them but it would be too costly for me to order shocks that weight quite a bit of pounds and have them shipped accross the globe. I have posted about this shock thing before. What I really would need is just some part numbers....of shocks that would fit the 4Track. So I can look for them with different souces and eventually find the best bargain. KYB shocks part numbers, Monroe, Gabriel, Bilstein, Rancho, ProComp, anything and as many as I can get. Just the Make/Model and Part No references. Just that. I am guessing many here must have replaced their shocks with Aftermarket ones at some point. Who remembers or could check what Make/Model and Part No they have bought? Maybe I am asking for too much...seems quite forward to me.
But hey...I am gretful for the reply in the first place.
You keep it up Assassin.

pro comp

Pro comp do dampers (not shocks - wrong word, the shock absorber is actually the spring lol) they do the es3000 replacement as standard or you can get longer ones or whatever, also iron man, but i know pro comp is american if thats where ya from.

ProComp es3000

Nice, Procomp es3000

ProComp...sounds good. es3000. I've come across them... Now...which es3000 part number would fit a standard supension (not lifted nor lowered) 1998 4Trak? (ie. es3000 part no. 321510 or 322500 or 315510 and so on?). I do need to get them from the US indeed. The question might sound stupid...but the thing is the US manufacturers dont list the Daihatsu 4trak in their fitment list. So I would like to get the part number.... to make sure I get the correct one. And eventually see what other vehicle it fits and look from there from other manufacturers. Kind of a hassle..but it would greatly help me.
Thanks again...
I'm hoping I will get even just one model and part number from one manufacturer.

Gracias muchas

just phone

If you phone them up - nice and easy they are a very good service and will help you, you just ask for standard replacements for the daihatsu fourtrak and give them your model/chassis number, isnt the fourtrak called a rocky over there??

ES 3000

Hi

to replace your standard dampers with pro comp ES 3000's the part No. you need is 317510. These are the extra slim model, the body of the standard ES 3000 is too large to fit on the front as it will foul the swivel housing on full lock and damage the damper body.
I am now stocking Pro-Comp ES 3000 and ES 9000 dampers for Sportrak and both Leaf sprung and Independant Fourtrak and am happy to ship worldwide.

Best regards

Dave

Thanks

Dave,

Thanks a lot. This should help a lot. ProComp 317510. With this I should be able to achieve what I intended. If ever I find it suitable to order from you..I will let you know for sure. But thanks a lot for that information.
And as for the denomination of the fourtrak..it was never sold on the US market and therefore doesnt have one. The Rocky on the US market is the Sportrak. Rocky is the name for the 4Trak on the South American market. I am located in the Caribbean, Dominican Republic. That's that.
Thanks a lot everybody.
Cheers.
