Bust Diff

Forum:

Hi guys
I have a bust diff in my sportrak. i have managed to loosen all the bolts that hold the diff in but how do i get it out?????
Do i need to remove a drive shaft? if so how.
Cheers Ben

Yes you do need to remove

Yes you do need to remove the prop. 4 bolts where the prop meets the diff. You will also need to pull the half shafts a few inches out on either side, to disengage them from the diff. This can be done by unbolting the whole hub asembly from the ends of the axle. 4 bolts each end, though you will have to diconect breaks as well doing it this way. The diff should come out the front of the axle (asuming rear diff) still mounted in it's bit of axle casing, as it is a 'bango' type diff, and not a 'sailsbury' type like in the 4trak.
