Hi. Data from F70 series

Hi.

Data from F70 series drivers handbook.

Gearbox - SAE/EP 90- 2.9 Ltr's

Trans Box- SAE/EP 90- 1.3 Ltr's ( or 75/90)

Diffs - SAE/EP 90- 1.5 Ltr's ( or 80/90)

I believe from other posts, you can use synthetic oil of the same spec, as an alternative to mineral oil.

mine is a F78 its a r reg independent i reckon it will be the same as the f70 do you?

slippy stuff

Hi.

Mine a F75, and I belive the capacities are the same, the mechanicals are. Beware removing the wrong plug on the main gearbox, DO NOT remove what looks like a level/filler plug on the passenger side of the gearbox, this holds a gear shaft in place. Lots of post's on the site re gear box oil/ levels/ plug . Use the "site search" box to the left for more info.

oil

hi
done the gearbox, transfer ,diffs found all the plugs to drain and fill straight away carnt understand people having problem undoing the wrong one??was a nightmare to put oil in very arkward to get to, ended up with very long pipe and funnel.
Only thing that was worring me was on the drain plugs was like a silver sludge on all of them , no bad noises coming from diffs gearbox etc so just gathered it was normal any way thanks for the info

Oils

Most gearbox oils have been synthetic for many years, it is difficult to find pure mineral oil; so any oil you buy will most likely be synthetic now.
