Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8TDX 1997 Gearbox Mainshaft Nut

Forum:

Hello Everyone and thanks for the previous advice on the Mainshaft nut coming loose. It was the nut, however someone previously had tack welded the nut into position which has now broke. The nut looks shot but the shaft is good.

My question is can someone recommend a place to get a new nut and gasket set from?

Thanks John

The Infamous NUT

Hi.

Suggest you contact/talk to 'Milners' (top of page 'Parts Dealers') or try local gearbox rebuilders, or in desperation a Diahatsu dealer, or at a last resort find a nut, same thread/size and some sheets of gasket paper usualy available from a motor factors and tap out your own gaskets.( can be done with a small ball pein hammer and a punch set and patience). I think there may be a post on this.

Lots of posts on this subject, just put the term 'gear box nut' in the 'Site Search' box on the left of page.
