Forum:
I've had my feroza for a few months now, and so far there are two problems.
1. Whenever i drive up long mountain roads (ie low gears, high revs, a fair bit of strain on the engine), after a certain amount of time, it will begin to make a really deep running sound, and it will start running erratically and start to cut out (but it never completely cuts out)
I think maybe the engine might be heating up a little (but when it happens, the thermostat is still a little below half, just as it always is?). Anyone else have similar problems. When my dad heard the deep runningsound he suspected there something wrong with the fuel mixture, but we cant find what part is causing it.
2. The other problem has happened ever since i bought it. When i take off at low speeds, or when i have to use the full grunt of the engine to go slowly over an obstacle when 4x4ing,(i.e. when the engine is under a bit more strain at low revs), there is a rattling/vibrating sound coming from up the front of the car somewhere. It sounds like some metal part is vibrating, (as the vibration frequency of the car reaches the resonance frequency of the metal part??)
NOTE: it is not engine pinging - last forum i asked everyone thought it was engine pinging but i guarantee it isn't).
Any ideas?
Is it injection or
Is it injection or carburettor?
In either case it sounds like an air leak somewhere on the induction system, or it is not getting enough air.
Check the air filter is OK, when the problem arises remove it to see if it is restricting the airflow. Check all the gaskets on the inlet side for leaks.
