Help!! Van conversion

Forum:

Hello All

Please can anyone advise me on how easy it is to convert a Fieldman van to a 4 or 5 seater??
I am 6 months pregnant and a van is no longer practical but I love my fieldman too much to sell.

Van conversion

Hi Truckgirl..I can tell you how to do it in reverse! as i,ve just converted my beloved 95 Independent into a van ! Its still got the rear seats in etc,but glass has gone and been replaced with panels..if I,d known..we could have swapped bits !Main reason for doing it was the window channels on one side had rotted. If u need windows/rubbers for drivers side let me know, cos they,re destined for e.abay.Good luck with both the conversion..and the new addition ! Take care.

me too

I have a 90 van with windows, if any one has the seats and belts for sale please mail me.

Thanks Rob

As someone who knows puting s

As someone who knows puting small children into the back seat of a two door 4x4 is difficult at best, and that's if your 6'. However if you want to go for it I have all the bits you need, as I did the same thing, then took it all out again when the person I sold it to wanted a van. I'm in Dover, Kent. 07710 088162 if you want more info.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

Van conversion

Hi Kev
Sounds great but I am down in darkest Devon! How much do you think it will cost to ship and how much would you like for bits?
(and its ok, I will put hubby in the back with dog:-).

At a guess I'd say it'll cost

At a guess I'd say it'll cost more to ship (becouse of size of seat) than it would cost to by all the stuff from a local scrapi, if you can find one. I'll look into it if you want? The seat isn't in the very best of condition by the way.
I think your best bet (if you've got space) would be to by a compleat 'spaires or repairs' car off of e-bay. Take what you need, then put the rest back on e-bay, or sling it. You should get all the right stuff, and if your lucky with the re-sale get your money back (or most of it) meaning you get your rear seat etc for next to nothing.
PS in case your wondering F75 stuff will fit, you don't need to find a scrap Indipendent, if that's what you have.
