When I put the key to the heating position. The Glow plug relay makes a niose and vibrates.
When i then turn the key to the start position she then either just clicks or all the lights on the dash go out.
I borrowed a glow plug relay off my cousin's F78, but it's doing the exact same with his.
Any ideas?

well you've ruled out the relay being an issue, cos all lights go out I would be searching for an earth issue if I was you or battery problem/short.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

not starting
I agree, either a flat or knackered battery. Or loose, dirty or corroded connection on either the battery, starter or earth terminals. The currents just not getting through. Clean up all the connections.
Voltage
Don't rely on a voltmeter to diagnose a duff battery, either. A weak or high resistance cell may still develop rated voltage but will not be able to supply the rated current without sagging. It must be tested under load.
Attach your voltmeter directly to the battery terminals and switch on the headlights. If the terminal voltage (ignore the dash voltmeter completely) drops significantly, you have a duff battery with at least one high resistance cell, usually due to a buildup of sulphur on the lead plates reducing the electrolyte contact area. If the terminal voltage remains constant but the headlights are off or dim, you have a connection fault.
