fourtrak smokey on startup

Hi everyone, I've got a 1991 4trak 2.8 TDX. It makes a lot of smoke on cold starts, which stops after about a minute of running. I got the glow plugs replaced last year, and the problem went away then came back after about 3 weeks! I've just been living with it but it is starting to annoy me, and I get some really dirty looks from people when I cold start in towns!!!

Is this a common problem, are the glow plugs just crap or is there another way to solve this?

Bottle it.

Try a bottle of DIESEL injector cleaner from halfords or local motor shop.Make certain its injector cleaner and not system protector. Whole bottle is mixed into tank of diesel.Cleaning could be needed every 3000 miles depending upon trips taken ... hot engine etc.It cleans the injectors to improve spray pattern and efficieny.
Should improve your mpg.
