Forum:
Hello, first post on the forum.
Bought a Rally 4 last month as a second/office car and am delighted with it. Inevitably a few minor jobs to do and mechanically, I'm fine with those.
However, I think the suspension is a little tired and would like to start going through it, I suspect it's not 'standard' Sirion in terms of springs etc. Is there a really good source for these bits who knows any differences between the models or is it just a case of ebay trawling?
Thanks in advance.
Ill follow this
Bought a Sirion Rally 4 at the weekend
I had a TRXX R4 in 1999 and 2000 and did the rally championship supported by Daihatsu
Always wanted another and now have one
I had a trawl through some
I had a trawl through some old posts and found out about the springs, a firm called Coilsprings in Sheffield make them to order, I've been in touch and they've got the specs.

Interested in a set
If you have any contact details or have an idea of prices id be interested
is there a manual for the Sirion t5hat can be downloaded
Coilsprings
Bought a set of 30% stiffer springs for my Rally 2 from them - Bob F tells me they made the original lowered springs for the Rally for Daihatsu UK. Slight hitch with the diameter on the front springs, but I sent them back and he sorted it straight away. Just make sure he makes them 25mm shorter than a standard Sirion, mine are standard length but I didn't realise until they were on the car. By then it was too late 'cos I needed to use it!
PS, they cost about £200 for a full set, but that was in Oct '13.

Coilsprings
They quoted £115 plus VAT for a rear set including delivery. About twice the price of a 'stock' pair from KYB but those are standard length. Contact details as below;

Dampers
I also discovered that the correct KYB reference for rear dampers on the Rally 4 is 342023 and NOT 342022 as is generally quoted.

thanks for that
Is there anyone that does competition shocks and struts
On the Avanzato we had our front shocks converted to adjustable platform
I am quite happy with my dad
I am quite happy with my dad's Sirion. Never undergone any faults yet. So lucky i am.
Another spring gone....
This time a front one, lanced the tyre that was only 300 miles old!

Now finally all sorted.
Now finally all sorted. Managed to gather up some spare struts with the correct springs for the front, have a useful stock now. New springs from Coilsprings on the back with a pair of fresh KYB dampers and all seems to be well again.

Sirion Rally 4 - riding high
Hi first post from me. Thanks to everyone who shares all this really useful info.
I bought a project rally 4 last week and it seems very high at the front - the springs look shiny black. I assume the previous owner put a set of standard ones on so it looks like a call to coilsprings uk is on the cards. Do I just ask for rally 4 front springs or is there scope to get them uprated? I should probably do the shocks too - is there an alternative to KYB?
coilsprings
They will do them stiffer if you ask (mine were made 30% stiffer on Bob F's advice and that's fine, not too hard), but make sure he makes them shorter than standard - 25mm I think - 'cos mine were made standard length by mistake I think, but I needed it on the road so I'm stuck with them now!

front springs
Have just noticed Bob F is selling front springs and shocks for a Rally 4 on Daihatsu Performance Enthusiasts Facebook page.
