Hello
My no charge warning light and my fuel drain light have come on , I think at the same time. Have drained filter but am only getting diesel , no water, and alternator is still spinning .
Both lights have gone off together aswell but have since reappeared . I pressume that it is a false alarm but has anyone had the same trouble 
Battery volt meter is still showing good volts and the charge light is not fading in and out , it is full on.
Any help would be appreciated.

It could be a fault with the instrument pack, but even if the alternator is spinning, it will not do when it's under load if the belt is worn or loose.
Fire it up, and leave to idle with lights, fan, wipers and hi-drain accesories such as the HRW on for about a minute or so. Then, open the bonnet and get hold of the throttle linkage and raise the RPM, and look at the alt. If it is going to slip, it will under those circumstances.

Thanks Dave , I will give it a go and let you know the result. If it still spins and does not loose charge then I pressume it is dodgy dash syndrome.
