having recently fitted an alarm to my big green stink machine, i have had the pleasure of door pin switches, non of them work, and after buying a new set from daihatsu.. then looking at the mechanism, i`m baffled. then pin goes into the sill, then underneath.. from here it splits, one side terminating underneath, with a female four pin plug. the other goes inside and appears to connect to the other (pass) side. the interior light does not respond to these and my alarm installer is not impressed... as he is a mate, i said i would try and shed some light on the subject.

If I remember correctly, the drivers side switch wire comes out through the rubber grommet in the inner sill, then up through another grommet under the drivers side seat, across the floor behind the handbrake handle, under the passenger seat, then to the major connector between the passenger seat and the door. The passenger side wire comes up through the floor and into the same major connector. Im not sure what the 4 pin connector could be for, except, perhaps, for the factory adjustable shock absorbers that were fitted to some vehicles.

not sure why they would be wired to the door pins tho? the main plug on the drivers side has suffered a mbit of modification.. so looks like i will spen this w/e tracing wires through, and seeing if theres any obvious breaks/re-routes
..bloomin amateur electricians eh?
also noted.. there are 3 "spare plugs! under the drivers seat...any ideas?
..also fuses, there is only a small fuse board on the drivers side.. is this the lot?
