There good fun cars. They veary a lot on power. However you can play with the timing & fuel imput to get more power out of them. See this page http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/2242 and the pages linked from it.
I've had 3 on the road, and I loved them all. There not very fast, but their torquy little beggers, that'll rather rip the chassis to bits (which ant going to happen as the chassis are just as strong as the later modles) than give up. They'll out perform a non terbo 2.8 at every turn.
My advise if you can find one with a replacment plastic body, or (rarity of rarity) one with a body that hasn't roted away go for it.
Also If you find one with things that need fixing, I have many parts.
If you do bye one let me know, and I can tell you the few week points so you don't knaker it at woodlands. When I say 'week' it's a relitive term. Every car has to let go somwhere if you abuse it long enugh.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
