Hello again, am getting a real thumping noise sounds like it is coming from mid to rear and from underneath....deafening and worrying , whilst going over the slightest of bumps in the road !! also when turning corners , getting a kind of pinging metalic noise, almost like something disjoints ( feels and sounds like under yer feet and seat, but outside), as the side lifts naturaly as you take a bend
Have had a "free check" at ATS to have a lightweight look round but they can spot nothing, have also tried bouncing the car etc.
It has new springs front and back with new poly bushes, so dont think its that.
Anyone got any ideas???

was the rear wheel bearing an expensive job? Did yours sound like something was thumping the floor pan?

garen1uk one side cost me around £80 i think it is a bit of a bugger to do so i got a mec to do mine .good luck. gaz

Have a look at the small transfer case mount, on the right hand side of the case, between it and the chassis rail. Its about 2 inches by 1 inch diametre. These have a habit of breaking under motor torque, and can bang away while you are driving. Sounds like its coming from under the right hand seat, which of course, is where it is.
Either that, or your lucky enough to have a Detriot Locker, which you dont know about. They can bang away like crazy when cornering.

A Detriot Locker is a brand o
A Detriot Locker is a brand of Automatic Locking Differential. I have one fitted to each axle on my Rocky. They can make a bit of noise when unlocking or relocking under drive torque.
I have gone through 3 of these mounts. I eventually gave up on the factory jobs, and got 3 shock absorber bushes (from pin end), and a long bolt, and used the bushes on top of each other as a replacement for the original, with the long bolt through the whole lot, including both mounts.

hAVE HAD A MATE IN TO START THE WELDING TODAY ON THE NEARSIDE REAR WHEEL ARCH. mY gOD!!!....WHAT A MESS! tOOK THE EXPENSIVE BIT OF PLASTIC WHEELARCH TRIM OFF....AND ITS ROTTEN THRU UNDERNEATH.
HAVE FOUND OUT WHAT THE HORRIFIC BANGING NOISE IS THO......THERE IS A CONNECTION OF THE REAR CROSSMEMBER TO THE CHASSIS ( WHICH WE DISCOVERED AFTER CUTTING OUT SOME ROT IN THE CORNER OF THE FLOOR ,RESULTING IN A LARGE HOLE. WHERE THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BUSHED JOINT BETWEEN BODY AND CHASSIS....THERE IS JUST A BUSHED JOINT....EVERY THING AROUND IT HAS ROTTED AWAY!!! SO THE BODY LEAPS OF THE CHASSIS ON EVERY POTHOLE AND BANGS DOWN AGAIN!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A NEW BUSH? OR ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO JUST GO AHEAD AND PLATE AROUND IT, PUTTING OUT THE FLAMES EVERY TIME THE BUSH CATCHES FIRE WHILST BEING WELDED? AS PER USUAL, THE BOLT THRU THE BUSH IS WELL SEIZED ANYWAY!
(STILL GETTIN THE PINGING BANGIN SOUND ON TURNING CORNERS WHEN YOU GET A NATURAL PITCH/LIFT THO.....COMING FROM SOMEWHERE UNDER THE FRONT SEATS......ANY IDEAS WHAT THAT COULD BE? )
