hi i am trying to change front bearings can anyone tell me how to get the big hub nut off as i cant find a socet that will fit think its a 54m but to fat to get in the resess is the a spical tool i need anyone help thanks

The usual method seems to be to knock the nut round with a hammer and chisel after first flattening the tab on the lock washer. This gnarls up the nut but seems to be what garages and the like do. You can get a thin walled socket to fit, the Ford Transit has the same size hub nuts and quite a few car spares places keep a reasonably cheap £8-10ish box spanner type thing for this.
