Sporty tickover too high

Forum:

Hi, my 1994 Sporty has a high tickover problem. It does eventually settle down once the automatic choke has disengaged, but it still runs at 1,000 rpm. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to reduce this? i.e there must be a tickover/idle screw you can adjust Scratch one-s head Thanks, eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%66%61%73%74%79%65%6c%6c%6f%40%68%6f%74%6d%61%69%6c%2e%63%6f%6d%22%3e%66%61%73%74%79%65%6c%6c%6f%40%68%6f%74%6d%61%69%6c%2e%63%6f%6d%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b')) Steve blue4x4

tick tick

1000rpm is a little high after auto choke cuts away.Correct rpm is 850 +-50 rpm. I recollect the rpm is reduced at the 'throttle screw' at the cam at the cable's end.

Sportrak tickover

Hi Mace,

Thanks for that - I think you are right. Can you still reduce the tickover manually on the fuel injected 1.6 engines? Cheers, blue4x4x

Universal.

They are all fuel injected. Use the cam screw.
