Engine numbers

Hi all, I have a Diahatsu engined Range Rover. Can anyone give me a clue as to the type of engine Unknw
Diesel. 2800cc Number. DL52556196
This engine has given sterling sevice for the past year, but now refuses to start,without a year and model motor factors cant(wont) help.Any help much appriceated.

All the DL's are basicly the same. The DL 52 I belive is the engine out of the latter Indipendent model (possibly with Intercooler?). I think it also the timming belted version (instead of timing gears).

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
