Mud amongst other things!!!

Forum:

Hi, Im new to offroading so first of all hi to everyone.

I have read the messageboards through and through and have taken on board most of the advise (K&N Air filter on the way!!!) But have 2 questions.

I am thinking of going Greenlaning in hampshire to get a taste of what the scene is like, are they any good and would this be the best place to start??

Also, when i got my Sportrak 2 weeks ago (ELXi J Reg) i took it to the muddiest place i could find started climbing hills and generally pratting around, parked up for the night and gazed in amazement at my acheivement of completely covering my car in dirt. Then the rain set in, and it seemed all my efforts where wasted!!! is there anyway of keeping my sporty muddy???

Cheers

Umm.. drive through muddy hol

Umm.. drive through muddy holes everyday! Biggrin
Or take a bucket of dirt.. add some water and tip it over your car.. that's cheating though Smile

If you are doing a lot of offroad work.. make sure the K&N isn't a pod setup.. they give a nice gain, but K&N aren't really recommended for very dusty conditions... the paper elements have better filtration.. K&N just allow more air flow.

:O

Mainly it will be on road, but i play on doing one or two offroading trips a year. the K&N just arrived actually and i think it is a "pod setup". Its a sort of clarrat colour and looks like a kind of plastic mushroom??? Should i keep the old one for off roading then?
