wanted - a nut !!!!

Forum:

trying to do the final last few jobs for the m.o.t.

im looking for either a nut or the size of a nut so i can locate a suitable one

the nut i after is for the stabiliser bar,
that fits between the right hand side of the front axle,
and bolts to thew chassis,
on the left hand side,

its the chassis mounting thats without the nut
bolts there / bushes are perfect,
its just missing the nut for some strange reason,
can anyone help with this simple dilema ???

Your nut

Beware, Daihatsu are fond of the metric fine thread (M10 x 1.0 mm or M12 x 1.25) not the more usual metric coarse. You are better off looking in the Yellow Pages for a fastener specialist in your area and asking them for one.

asking them for what exactly

asking them for what exactly ????

only ask as i have no idea what size the nut is !!!
i cannot remove the bolt from the bush,
i cannot take vehicle to a handy diy store,
i cannot use local breakers - as there aint none,
i have however brought this nut from a fourtrack that was breaking,
you wanna see the state of it,
threads scrap n corroded,
no chance of removing the nut at all,
and best of all the stabiser bar was flame cut along with the mount to the chassis,
and i paid for this,

all this grief just for a nut !!!!

For clarification purposes on

For clarification purposes only. The bar you refer to, from front axle to opposite chassis rail, is called the Panhard Rod.

Consider yourself edjumacated.

want a nut

I presume the car drives if it does take it down to you local hardware store and show them what you need and I am sure they will be able to supply you with a suitable nut. If it wont drive then take a trip to a breakers yard and remove a nut off a similar vehicle it wont cost much if anything at all.

Keep the sunny side up and the muddy side down!!!
