towing my Rocky

Forum:

Help please!
I need to know if anyone knows if I need to do anything special to tow my 91 rocky(us version) behind my camper. I know that some others makes will destroy the transfer case when flat towed from lack of oiling. Any sugestions?
Thanks in advance

Gearbox and transfer case bot

Gearbox and transfer case both in neutral, and hubs unlocked if applicable. If towing over a big distance, and you have the time and rescources, consider removing the rear propshaft.

Apart from that, there shouldnt be any problems.

Cheers
David

flat towing

Thanks so much for the reply. I have had conflicting info about this. I do tow 250 miles one way to play in Mexico. I have been driving but now poor Rocky is no longer street legal here in Arizona, it wont pass our stupid emissions check. BTW, the only neutral tranfer case seems to be between 4 high and 4 low with no detent, is this really neutral?
